Antergos is a modern, elegant and powerful operating system based on Arch Linux. It started life under the name of Cinnarch, combining the Cinnamon desktop with the Arch Linux distribution, but the project has moved on from its original goals and now offers a choice of several desktops, including GNOME 3 (default), Cinnamon, Razor-qt and Xfce. Antergos also provides its own graphical installation program.

Table Notes and Explanations

(Please refer to the table below.)
  • Select view:
  • To compare the software in this project to the software available in other distributions, please see our Compare Packages page.
  • Notes: In case where multiple versions of a package are shipped with a distribution, only the default version appears in the table. For indication about the GNOME version, please check the "nautilus" and "gnome-shell" packages. The Apache web server is listed as "httpd" and the Linux kernel is listed as "linux". The KDE desktop is represented by the "kdelibs" and "plasma-desktop" packages and the Xfce desktop by the "xfdesktop" package.
  • Colour scheme: green text = latest stable version, red text = development or beta version. The function determining beta versions is not 100% reliable due to a wide variety of versioning schemes.

Awesome installer. Only big issue was alot of core system file are marked as orphans so when you try to clean up orphans it will remove system files & crash. I reinstalled it 3 times & every time it did the same thing.

Also after every update the system had nasty bugs. So after the next updates the past bugs would be fixed then more bugs would surface, Was very annoying.

I switch over to Manjaro & have not found any issues so far.
Antergos will be a great distro but it has a long way to come before that. Keep an eye on it

I would not recommend Antergos at the moment.

I have been using Antergos for several months, have no issues to report, very stable, all my hardware works as expected. Dual boot works fine. Easy to install. No crashes to report.

I've been using Antergos for at least 8 months.
I've always looked for a stable, fast distribution that has updates for the latest packages.
I was a fan of the opensuse leap, but I was unhappy with the updates. I switched to opensuse tumbleweed, the updates damaged my installation. I was very disappointed.
I looked for an alternative that had constant updates, I found Arch. But I ran into the facility. I could not do dual boot.
I searched the internet and discovered the Antergos. I can say that it is a graphical installation for Arch. Really very simple to do the installation. Easy choice of packages. Easy choice of desktop. My dual boot worked perfectly with uefi.
What I liked the most: the updates are constant and do not damage the system, my installation is the same since I installed it the first time.
What I did not like: the pacman syntax is different from the syntax of traditional package managers.
Another important point: the stability of the Antergos is fascinating. To this day I have not had a crash. That's really good.
